The novel is perfect for readers who enjoy faith or religious-based reads, in particular stories that involve Jesus Christ or those who follow his teachings. This is a unique and creative read throwing the reader right into the journey immediately and focusing on the hurdles Caleb must overcome to find the Crown of Thorns, as well as the faith that drives him ever onward.
The Gorn gene has left the world in tatters as the only women "alive" have turned into zombies. But scientists have not let that bring an end to the human race. Through advanced technology that is hundreds of years into the future, children (boys) are born in labs, and artificial women are made.
For those who enjoy heavy sci-fi style storytelling with elements of space exploration, deep character growth and complex plot lines, this is the novel for you. The combination of space exploration and adventures with ESP-like powers and the divisiveness that often brings makes this story stand out from the crowd of other sci-fi epics.
Delorie's work delivers a fast-paced and engaging plotline. When nuclear warfare makes the earth uninhabitable, the survivors seek refuge by building a technologically advanced underwater world. Reminiscent of the popular sci-fi series The 100, the narrative employs the classic elements of science fiction while consistently testing the limits of humanity.
In the sequel to Atomic Ocean, the author does an excellent job of placing the reader right in a nuclear wasteland and of portraying what a ragtag group of rebels might have to encounter in such a catastrophic vision. Readers who love action-driven, militaristic plots and/or post-apocalyptic scenarios will find a lot to appreciate with this novel.
From the opening scene, Delorie reels the audience in with a captivating premise of an unyielding protagonist in a complete state of flux, living a nightmare and thirsty for vengeance. Staying true to traditional science fiction, Delorie captures Rox's journey to redemption with the lens of a world he has created that is bursting with frenetic energy and action.
During the testing of an advanced gateway device, two officers of the United Earth Aeronautics agency are thrown into Mars’ orbit to discover a new reality. DeLorie takes these officer’s into an alternate time where the Roman Empire never fell and is colonizing Mars. These officer’s need to use their knowledge of history to fit in until they can discover a means to return.
